ATP Live Rankings: Ignacio Buse and Arthur Fery will battle for the Winston-Salem Open title after the Peruvian and Briton came through contrasting semi-final encounters to reach Saturday’s championship match in North Carolina.
Buse continued the standout season of his career by defeating Benjamin Bonzi 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 in the first semi-final, recovering strongly after letting a second-set advantage slip to secure his place in another ATP Tour final.
The 22-year-old made a dominant start before Bonzi fought back to level the contest, despite Buse having held a 4-2 lead in the second set. However, the World No. 36 quickly rediscovered his rhythm in the decider, producing an almost flawless serving display to race away with the match in one hour and 51 minutes.
