Linda Wessberg is no stranger to India. The veteran Swede, who has been playing on the Ladies European Tour since 2004, has been to India no less than eight times for the Hero Women's Indian Open and she has never missed the cut.
Still looking for a first win in India, she opened with a superb 7-under 65 that included an ace and gave her the lead for the opening day.
Just one shot behind Wessberg was Anais Meyssonnier of France, who holed eight birdies against two bogeys for a 6-under 66 that put her in second place.
