Senior World Wrestling Championships: India's first-ever women's Senior World Wrestling Championships gold medallist Manisha Bhanwala has credited her late father, Suresh Bhanwala, for instilling in her the belief that one should never take up a task without being determined to finish it, saying the life lesson has become a part of her character and continues to guide her wrestling career.
Manisha became the first Indian woman to win a gold medal at the Senior World Wrestling Championships after she clinched the yellow metal in the 59kg event on Friday in Astana, Kazakhstan.
“My father has taught me one thing since childhood. If you get involved in any work, then finish it. That thing is in my blood. Don't get involved in any work if you don't plan on finishing it. For me, the first and last option is wrestling,” Manisha said in a joint media interaction facilitated by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) on Saturday.
