The Asian Boxing Championships: India’s Vishvanath Suresh and Sachin delivered impressive performances to secure victory for the country on Day 3 of the Asian Boxing Championships 2026 on Wednesday, advancing to the next rounds in their respective weight categories.
Competing in the men’s 50kg division, Vishvanath Suresh showcased exceptional technical ability and ring awareness to outclass Kyrgyzstan’s Bekzat Ergeshov. The Indian boxer dominated the bout from start to finish, earning a comprehensive 5-0 unanimous decision from the judges.
Suresh now faces a stiff challenge in the next round as he is set to take on Kazakhstan’s Sanzhar Tashkenbay. Tashkenbay enters the bout with an impressive record, being the reigning World Champion (2025) as well as a World Cup winner the same year.
