Women's T20 WC Final: Australia Shatter South Africa's Dream, Lifts The World Cup Title For The 6th Time

Australian Women's clinches their sixth ICC Women's T20 World Cup Title after defeating hosts South Africa by 19 runs in the finals of the mega event.

SA Vs AUS: Australian Women's clinches their sixth ICC Women's T20 World Cup Title after defeating hosts South Africa by 19 runs in the finals of the mega event played at Newlands Cricket Ground. 

Chasing a decent total of 156 runs, star South African batter Laura Wolvaardt smacked 61 runs off 48 deliveries with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Till the time Wolvaardt was batting, her team was looking in a hunt to surprise the Australian team but soon after the batter got departed off Megan Schutt, the hosts were left relentless.

Apart from Wolvaardt, Chloe Tryon got 25 runs which was the second-best for their team. The rest of the batters struggled in front of a proficient bowling line-up of the Aussie team.

For Australia, all the bowlers did pretty well to get the title for their team. Megan Schutt (1/23), Darcie Brown (1/25), Jess Jonassen (1/21 in 3 overs), and Ashleigh Gardner (1/13) shattered South Africa's hopes to win their maiden World Cup title. 

Earlier, Australia won the toss and decided to bat first, after which it was seen a blistering half-century by opener Beth Mooney, due to which the Australian team put a total of 156 runs on the scoreboard in 20 overs.

Beth Mooney played an inning of 74 runs in 53 balls with the help of 9 fours and 1 six. Apart from Mooney, Ash Gardner scored 29 runs off 21 balls with the help of 2 fours and 2 sixes.

For South Africa, Marijne Kapp took 2 wickets for 35 runs in 4 overs. Shabnim Ismail also took 2 wickets for 26 runs. Nonkululeko Mlaba and Chloe Tryon took one wicket each.
