GT vs RR IPL 2022 - Gujarat Titans defeat Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets to lift their maiden IPL trophy on their debut season. Captain Hardik Pandya led the win, first with the ball as he picked up 3 important wickets and went on to score 34 runs in a low-scoring chase. Yuzvendra Chahal, the spinner who has been in lethal form this season, displayed a wonderful spin to dismiss the IPL 2022-winning skipper.

Chasing a target of 131 runs, Gujarat Titans lost their 2nd wicket in the 5th over for a meagre total of 23. However, skipper Hardik Pandya & Shubman Gill held the crease as they etched a partnership of 63 runs in 53 deliveries for the third wicket to stabilize the innings and prevent a batting collapse.

In the 14th over, Yuzvendra Chahal, who was yet wicketless in the playoffs, bowled a ripper of a delivery on the second bowl to Hardik Pandya. Chahal bowled a leg-break drifting on middle and leg, which landed in a length, and Pandya had looked clueless with his footwork.

The GT skipper tried to waft at it from the crease. The ball gripped in sharply and the edge went straight to slip, who was placed there as Rajasthan required a wicket. Yashasvi Jaiswal completed a comfortable catch as Yuzvendra Chahal picked up his 27th wicket of the season and affirming the Orange Cap to his name for the IPL 2022.
