SA vs BAN 1st Test: Bangladesh stunned the world when they thrashed South Africa 2-1 in the recently concluded ODI series in South Africa. South African fans had hopes that their team will make a comeback in the test series, but Bangladesh have continued to trouble the hosts. In the ongoing first test match, Bangladesh batter Yasir Ali took a stunner to dismiss South African limited overs' captain Temba Bavuma.

Bavuma was the top scorer for South Africa in the first innings with his knock of 93 runs with 12 boundaries. However, in the 44th over of South Africa's 2nd innings, Yasir Ali shocked the spectators with his on-point fielding & fitness.

Ebadot Hossain was bowling the 44th over, and on the 4th delivery, Temba Bavuma was on strike, on 4* from 21 balls. Hossain bowled the delivery on a good length around outside off stump, which angled in and then straightened across the right-hander. Bavuma was forced to play the delivery which left him open.

The ball took the South African batter's edge and Yasir Ali, fielding at first slip showed excellent reflexes as he dived to his left to take a one-handed stunner, possibly the best match of the ongoing Bangladesh tour of South Africa. It is noteworthy that earlier in the innings the same fielder had dropped a simple catch, yet he made up for it with this excellent catch.

While talking about the match, Bangladesh captain Mominul Haque won the toss & opted to field first against South Africa in the 1st test. South Africa posted 367/10 in the first innings with Temba Bavuma (93), captain Dean Elgar (67) and Sarel Erwee (41) being the major contributors. For Bangladesh, Khaled Ahmed picked up 4 wickets, Mehidy Hasan picked up 3 while Ebadot Hossain managed 2 wickets.

In reply, Bangladesh were bowled out for 298/10 with 4 wickets from Simon Harmer, 3 for Williams, and 1 each for Olivier and Mulder. Bangladesh batter Mahmudul Hasan Joy was the star with the bat with his knock of 137 runs. While writing this piece, South Africa are at 140/4 in the second innings with a lead of 209 runs in 2nd session of day 4. Ryan Rickelton (8*) and Kyle Verreynne (5*) are at the crease for the hosts.
