WATCH: Warner Survives Despite Bails Lighting Up; Huge Disappointment For Chahal

RR vs DC IPL 2022: David Warner was at 22 runs when luck favoured him and denied Yuzvendra Chahal a deserved wicket.

RR vs DC IPL 2022: Apart from all the aspects of cricket, 'luck' is something which isn't accounted for much on a scorecard, yet often sways the result of the match. David Warner has been in good form in IPL 2022, but Yuzvendra Chahal is the leading wicket-taker this year, and almost got rid of the DC opener. However, luck interfered, and Warner's inning continued. 

Chasing a target of 161, DC were at 67/1 in 8.5 overs, with David Warner & Mitchell Marsh on the crease. Delhi Capitals lost their other opener, KS Bharat on the second delivery of the innings against Tren Boult. 

Yuzvendra Chahal was bowling the 9th over of the DC innings. On the second delivery, Warner smacked a six which was mere yards away from Devdutt Padikkal fielding at the boundary. On the next delivery, Warner was dropped by Buttler and got two lifelines in two consecutive deliveries. 

On the last delivery, luck yet again favoured the Australian. Chahal bowled a ripper, vicious leg break which spun sharply from an off stump line. The bowl went past Warner's bat in a flash and brushed the stumps as the bails lit up for a fraction of a second. Samson couldn't collect it either anticipating that the ball would crash into the stumps. 

However, David Warner survived this and went on with his innings, batting at 44* in 37 balls while writing this piece. 

While talking about the match, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant won the toss & opted to bowl first against Rajasthan Royals in the 58th match of IPL 2022. With the help of Ashwin's maiden IPL fifty and Devdutt Padikkal's 48, DC managed 160/6 in 20 overs. For DC, Chetan Sakariya, Anrich Nortje & Mitchell Marsh picked up 2 wickets each.
