Technology in cricket generally leaves the viewers surprised by some of its decisions, sometimes players but umpires rarely get shocked, partly because they are well versed by how a DRS decision is being made. 

However, on day 3 of the fourth Ashes Test, a decision also left Umpire Rod Tucker surprised. In the 66th over of the England innings, Mark Wood was enjoying his time at the crease where he had smacked Australia captain Pat Cummins for three sixes already. 

Cummins continued to bowl short at him and this time, Wood missed the ball and the ball got deflected from his helmet straight towards the point. Australians appealed but the umpire didn't think Wood had edged it. 

Cummins after some thinking reviewed the decision. In replays, the snickometer got a spike when the ball was close to the bat. After the third umpire watched it 2-3 times, he was convinced that Wood did edge the ball and asked Rod Tucker to reverse the decision. 

During the process, not everyone was confident about what will the decision be, since it seemed that the ball had gone past the bat when the spike came. Nevertheless, the decision got reversed and Wood was adjudged out. 

The reversed decision not only surprised Wood, who still thought that he didn't edge the ball, but also left umpire Rod Tucker shaking his head, not entirely convinced by the decision.
