Labuschagne, ever since his debut as a concussion substitute has scored 2,220 runs in 40 innings averaging 56.92 with 6 centuries and 12 fifties. The batter recently posted a video on his official social media, where he has prepared a make-do preparation to practice spins bowling, in his backyard!
In the video, the Aussie batter shows his 'little project' to practice playing spin bowling in the subcontinent conditions. He starts off by showing the mat he has placed, a mat which the batter has used for 'years' to practice batting as the mat provides seam movement.

Marnus goes on to explain that in subcontinent conditions i.e. the matches in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, the spin is much more prominent, with the ball sliding on without much spin also being a useful variation to dazzle the batter and dismiss him. To practice playing these spin variations, Labuschgane pastes small aluminium and metal plates with tape on the mat close to each other.

He further explains that one side of the ball is completely taped, and if the ball lands on the tape side on the metal plates the ball goes straight and slides on. On the other hand, if the ball lands on the tape side on the mat, the ball spins. Marnus says that this arrangement helps him practice the flippers and spin bowling effectively.
