In the ongoing match between Kolkata Knight Riders & Delhi Capitals, Steve Smith was given a chance to open the innings in place of injured Prithvi Shaw. After being put to bat first by KKR, DC opener Steve Smith was taken aback by a delivery from Ferguson in the 13th over.
Smith tried to paddle scoop Ferguson by going across the line, however, Ferguson surprised him with a slower one and the ball went on to hit Smith's groin area, after which Smith lied down flat on the crease for about 30 seconds.

Steve Smith got out bowled on the very next delivery by Ferguson. The Australian cricketer scored 39 off 34 balls, with 4 boundaries before getting out. While writing this piece, DC are at 102-6 in 16.5 overs, with Pant (23*) and Ashwin (6*) at the crease.
