In the 23rd match of the ongoing Big Bash League 2021-22 between Melbourne Stars & Brisbane Heat where Melbourne after opting to bat first posted 207/9 in their 20 overs. In this carnage, one bowler who probably had the worse day was Liam Guthrie.

Guthrie in his quota of 4 overs was thrashed for 7- runs at an economy of 17.50. It was due to this underperformance, Melbourne Stars were able to post a total of 207 against the Brisbane Heat. Liam Guthrie also managed to pick up two wickets but it was off no use to his team. 

Liam Guthrie has registered the unwanted record giving away 70 runs in 4 overs. The record for giving away the most runs in 4 hours in BBL history is now under Liam's name. Before Liam, Ben Dwarshuis held this record as he gave away 61 runs in his quota of 4 overs and went wicketless as well in 2020.

While talking about the match, Melbourne Stars posted 207/9 in the first innings, powered by opener Joe Clarke's 85 off 44 balls & Cartwright's 79 off 44 balls.  In reply, Brisbane Heat scored 187/9 courtesy of the fifties by Chris Lynn (57) and Ben Duckett (54) but they lost wicket at regular intervals and ended up losing the match by 20 runs.
