ODI World Cup: Former India batter WV Raman believes it is too early to settle on India's fast bowling attack for the 2027 Men’s ODI World Cup, saying that injuries have several frontline bowlers out of action regularly and that a year is a long time when it comes to finalising a bowling combination.
Raman's assessment comes soon after India opened their ODI World Cup build-up with a 2-1 ODI series win over the West Indies, but raised questions about the bowling make-up. While captain Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul had a great time with the bat, the bowling, however, told a different story.
The pitches at all three venues offered little assistance, and both attacks struggled, but India's bowlers rarely looked like they were breaking through, with Kuldeep Yadav's effort in the series opener in Thiruvananthapuram being the lone exception.
