Mumbai, July 18 (CRICKETNMORE) - Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag on Tuesday failed to answer when asked about the India team coach issue at a promotional show here. The 38-year-old, known for speaking his mind on social media, chose to remain silent when asked about a separate batting and bowling coach for the national cricket team.

"If you ask questions on "Umeed India" (the show he was promoting) then I will answer. Thanks," Sehwag told reporters.

The opener was among the shortlisted candidates, who were interviewed by the Cricket Advisory Committee comprising Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and V.V.S. Laxman earlier this month.

Sehwag also spoke about the difficulties faced by Indian athletes to prepare for events like the Olympics and World Championships and mentioned that cricket has provided him with world class facilities wherever he has gone.

"My struggle was nothing in comparison to them. For me cricketing facilities were available at every corner, there are thousands of academies in Delhi where (one) gets facilities and equipment. There is no struggle for us cricketers in front of them," Sehwag said.

He added that he was touched by the struggle of rower Dattu Bokhanal, who at one time did not know swimming before finishing 13th in the Rio Olympics last year.
