DSG vs JSK: Courtesy of Donovan Ferreira's explosive batting and crucial bowling, Joburg Super Kings survived a batting collapse and defeated Joburg Super Kings by 16 runs in a thrilling high-scoring run-chase. Quinton de Kock also played an impressive knock but DSG's death bowling made the difference for the visitors on the traditionally bowling-friendly Newlands pitch.

After a surprising decision to bat first, Joburg Super Kings lost 4 wickets inside the powerplay for just 27 runs. Keshav Maharaj struck with the first wicket as he dismissed Richard Hendricks (1) in the 2nd over, while Dwaine Pretorius removed Janneman Malan (5) in the 3rd over. Spinner Prenalen Subrayen dismissed Kyle Verreyne (10) and Lewis Gregory (2) in the 6th over to rig the LSK's top order.

Captain Faf du Plessis held one end as he cautiously scored 39 runs in 33 balls with 3 fours, etching a partnership of 72 runs in 48 balls with Donovan Ferreira for the 5th wicket, where the later blasted 41 runs off 24 balls. After Faf fell to Akila Dananjaya in the 14th over, Romario Shepherd joined Ferreira in the middle as they etched a partnership of 87 runs in 35 balls for the 6th wicket.

Ferreira remained unbeaten 82 runs off 40 balls with 8 fours & 5 sixes at a strike rate of 205 while Shepherd struck 40 runs (4x2,6x4). In reply, Durban Super Giants gave the needed start as Quinton de Kock and Kyle Mayers added 98 runs in 11 overs for the first wicket. Kyle Mayers scored 39 runs off 29 balls, while captain Quinton de Kock scored 78 runs in 52 balls with 5 fours & 5 sixes and stayed at the crease till the 14th over.

However, Donavan Ferreira stepped up again as he removed danger man De Kock with the last bowl of his spell, bringing back Super Kings in the match. Wickets then continued to fall and despite Pretorius's 6-ball-14 run knock (6x2), the team fell short by 16 runs. For JSK, Alzarri Joseph picked up 2 wickets while Malusi Siboto, Ferreira and Aaron Phangiso managed 1 wicket each.
