India vs Sri Lanka: All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja made a dream comeback in the 1st test against Sri Lanka after being out of Team India since November 2021 due to an injury. The 33-year old first smacked an unbeaten 175 runs with the bat and then proceeded to dismiss Lankan captain Karunaratne on Jaddu's second delivery of the match.

However, there was an interesting angle attached to this wicket. On the first ball of the 25th over, which was also the first over by Ravindra Jadeja in the match, Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne tried to slog sweep the in-form Indian all-rounder. However, Karunaratne missed the ball and the delivery sneaked under him to hit him on his thighs. Ravindra Jadeja looked relentless to take the review but captain Rohit Sharma decided otherwise after having a chat with Rishabh Pant.

On the very next delivery, however, Karunaratne messed up even more as he shuffled across the crease and tried to defend an in-spinner that wasn't short enough to be played on the back foot. The Lankan skipper ended up playing down the wrong line and was trapped in front of off. The ball by Jadeja spun a lot but the umpire adjudged the batter out. After the Sri Lanka DRS challenge, the replay ruled it as 'umpire's call' and the all-rounder was forgiven.
