After a comprehensive win in the first game, Rajasthan Royals conceded a close defeat in their 2nd game in IPL 2023. Jos Buttler failed to fire as he came out at #3 after getting stitches on his hands, and was unluckily dismissed for 19 runs. Ashwin, who came out to open in Buttler's stead, managed a 4-ball duck while Yashasvi also scored only 11 runs. Captain Sanju Samson was the top scorer with 42 runs off 25 balls while Shimron Hetmyer also scored 36 runs in 18 balls. Dhruv Jurel was the highlight of RR batting as the youngster smashed 32 runs off 15 balls while coming in as an impact sub. 

It was a rough day in bowling for Rajasthan as Trent Boult went wicketless for 38 runs in his 4 overs. Jason Holder was the top wicket-taker with 2 wickets to his name while spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal managed 1 wicket each. 

Delhi Capitals on the other hand are still looking for their first win after playing 2 games this season. In their last match, they looked in control after batting first and setting up 163 run total, but eventually lost the match. David Warner (37) and Axar Patel (36) were the top scorers while Sarfaraz Khan also contributed with 30 runs. Abishek Porel smacked 20 runs off 11 balls as none of the other batters were able to reach the double-digit mark. 

Anrich Nortje picked up 2 wickets with the balls while Khaleel Ahmed and Kuldeep Yadav managed 1 wicket each. However, the pacers' high economy eventually resulted in a loss in the death overs since DC didn't have too many runs in the bank.
