Pant's Ton & Hardik's All-Round Show Powers India To A Series Winning Victory In 3rd ODI Against England

India register a 2-1 win in the 3-match ODI series against England after winning the 3rd ODI by 5 wickets.

Courtesy of Rishabh Pant's tremendous ton and Hardik Pandya's all-round performance powered India to a series winning victory in 3rd ODI by 5 wickets, clincing the 3-match series 2-1.

Chasing a target of 360, India lost their top 3 batters - Rohit Sharma (17), Virat Kohli (17) and Shikhar Dhawan (1) before the 9th over for just 38 runs. However, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya etched a partnership of 133 runs in 115 balls for the 5th wicket.

Hardik Pandya, after picking 4 wickets with the ball, scored 71 runs off just 55 balls with 10 fours before getting dismissed by Brydon Carse in the 36th over. However, Pant carried on the on slaught at the other end, scoring an unbeaten 125 runs off 113 balls with 16 fours & 2 sixes, taking the team to a series winning victory while scoring his maiden ODI century.

For England, Reece Topley picked up 3 wickets while Brydon Carse and Craig Overton managed 1 wiceket each, but couldn't stop the Indian team chasing down the target in 42.1 overs. 

In the first innings, Courtesy of an excellent bowling performance by Hardik Pandya and ably assisted by other Indian bowlers, India were able to bowl out England for 259/10 in the decider and 3rd ODI.

Hardik Pandya picked up 4 wickets in his 7 overs, giving away just 24 runs with 3 maidens. This is a career-best performance from Hardik Pandya in his ODI career. Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal picked up 3 wickets while Mohammad Siraj picked up 2 top-order wickets. Ravindra Jadeja also registered a wicket to his name. 

For England, captain Jos Buttler was the top score with 60 runs off 80 balls including 3 fours & 2 sixes. Jason Roy also contributed with 41 runs in 31 balls, smacking 7 boundaries. However, lack of support from any other batters eventually caused the hosts bowled out in 45.5 overs.

Earlier, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss & opted to bowl first against England in the 3rd ODI. This match is being played at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester.
