PAK vs NZ 2nd Test: Match Preview:

In the first Test at the same stadium, Pakistan batters fought hard to counter the visitors' brilliant batting and avoid a defeat. Babar Azam was the top scorer with his 161 runs in the first innings, while Agha Salman also notched 103 runs. Sarfaraz was the highlight in the first innings, who scored a steady 86 runs on his Test return. Sarfaraz scored another half-century in the 2nd innings with 53 runs to his name. In the second innings, Pakistan's lower order stepped as Saud Shakeel (55*) and Mohammad Wasim Jr. (43) made useful contributions. 

Abrar Ahmed once again was the highlight in Pakistan bowling as he picked up a 5-for in the first innings. Fellow spinner Nauman Ali grabbed 3 wickets and Mohammad Wasim Jr. registered 1 wicket to his name, while Abrar Ahmed managed to grab the only Kiwi wicket in the 2nd innings. 

Kane Williamson ended his century drought in style as he smashed an unbeaten double ton to power New Zealand to 612 runs in the first innings. Opener Tom Latham (113) also registered a ton while Daryl Mitchell (42) and Tom Blundell (47) missed out on fifties. Ish Sodhi etched a partnership of 154 runs with Kane Williamson for the 7th wicket, scoring 65 runs in the process. 

The Kiwi bowlers distributed wickets amongst themselves as a unit in the first innings, where captain Tim Southee was the top wicket-taker with 3 wickets. Ajaz Patel, Michael Bracewell and Ish Sodhi picked up 2 wickets each while Neil Wagner managed 1 wicket. In the 2nd innings, however, Ish Sodhi exploited the used-pitch's conditions and registered 6 wickets to his name. Michael Bracewell also picked up 2 wickets.
