After defeating Bangladesh in the first match of the tri-series, Pakistan will lock horns against the home side New Zealand in the second match of the series on Saturday, October 08.
In the first match, Pakistan bowlers scrambled Bangladesh batting line-up to 146/8 and won the game by 21 runs. Mohammad Wasim scalped three wickets, Mohammad Nawaz put down two Bangladeshi batters, Dahani, Rauf and Shadab took one wicket each.
Earlier in the first inning, Pakistan's star batter Mohammad Rizwan struck another fine half-century 78 balls off 50 deliveries with 7 fours and 2 sixes. Shah Mahmood also played well and scored 31 runs off 22 balls, skipper Babar Azam (22) played slow innings that helped the team score 167/5.
On the other hand, New Zealand heard bad news later after their star all-rounder Daryl Mitchell got injured and has been ruled out of the tri-series & T20 World Cup.
Despite a big blow in the form of Mitchell, the Blackcaps look composed of experienced skipper Kane Williamson and Martin Guptill, who will try to tie loose ends, putting themselves in the form ahead of the T20 World Cup.
Apart from them, the home team has Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips, and James Neesham to maintain some balance in the middle order.
Kiwi bowling looks much more composed under Trent Boult, who was the leading wicket-taker (10 in 3 matches) will trouble Pakistani batters during powerplay and Death overs, also Tim Southee and speedster Lockie Ferguson will knock heads of opponents with their swing and pace.
