Mohsin Khan, Rahul Help Lucknow Super Giants Beat Delhi Capitals By 6 Runs 

Lucknow Super Giants defeat Delhi Capitals by six runs in match 45 of the IPL 2022.

An all-round performance helped Lucknow Super Giants close out a fairly close game as they defeated Delhi Capitals by six runs in match 45 of the IPL 2022 played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. 

Chasing a steep target of 196, DC lost both Prithvi Shaw and David Warner cheaply within three overs. However, Mitchell Marsh and Rishabh Pant helped Delhi smack 66 runs in the powerplay despite the early hiccups.

Marsh and Pant smashed 60 in just 25 balls for the third wicket partnership before the Aussie got out (or so he thought) in the seventh over after making 37 in 20 balls with the help of three sixes and as many fours. Lalit Yadav got out in the next over cheaply. 

Pant and Rovman Powell added 34 in 25 balls for the fifth wicket before the DC captain was cleaned up by Mohsin Khan. Powell and Axar Patel's knocks kept Delhi in the game till the last over but couldn't finish the run chase as they fell short by six runs. Where Powell scored 35 off 21 including three fours and two sixes while Axar remained not out on 42 from 24 balls with the help of three sixes and a four. 

Mohsin finished with the figures of 4/16 in his four overs; his wickets included - David Warner, Rishabh Pant, Rovman Powell, and Shardul Thakur. 

Earlier, Half-centuries from KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda helped Lucknow score 195/3 in the first inning. Rahul smacked 77 in 51 balls with the help of five sixes and four fours while Hooda made 52 off 34 including six fours and a six. 

The duo had added 95 runs in 61 balls for the second wicket to set up a solid platform after Quinton de Kock got out in the fifth over after scoring a quick 23 off 13 balls. Marcus Stoinis helped in finishing the inning with his 17 runs in 16 balls. 
Shardul Thakur was the sole wicket-taker for DC as he finished with the figures of 3/40 in four overs.
