IPL 2022: Kolkata Knight Riders moved to 6th spot after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 54 runs in match 61 of IPL 2022.

Kolkata Knight Riders kept their playoff hopes alive as they thrashed Sunrisers Hyderabad by 54 runs in the 61st match of IPL 2022, in Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. KKR all-rounder Andre Russell displayed all-round performance, first powering the team to a total of 177/6 with 49* off 28 deliveries, and then picking up 3 wickets with the bowl.

Kolkata Knight Riders moved to the sixth spot from eighth after a win against Sunrisers Hyderabad. With only a game left in hand, KKR are at 12 points and can qualify with 14 points as well, given that other results also favour the team.

In the bottom half, DC have 12 points in 12 matches, KKR have 12 points in 13 matches, PBKS have 12 points in 12 matches, and SRH have 10 points in 12 matches. 

In the upper half of the points table, Gujarat Titans have already qualified for the playoffs. Lucknow Super Giants are aat 16 points and a win tonight can confirm their ticket to playoff. Rajasthan Royals are placed third with 14 points in 12 matches followed by Royal Challengers Bangalore, at 14 points in 13 matches.

Latest Orange Cap Holder 

Jos Buttler is still the Orange Cap holder with 625 runs in 12 matches, followed by LSG skipper KL Rahul with 459 runs in 12 matches.

Latest Purple Cap Holder

Wanindu Hasaranga & Yuzvendra Chahal remain at the top of the wicket-taking charts with 23 wickets each in 13 & 12 matches respectively. However, Umran Malik picked up 3 wickets against Kolkata while teammate Natarajan managed 1 wicket, and both are placed at 7th & 6th spot respectively with 18 wickets to their name. Andre Russell also picked up 3 wickets against SRH and is placed 9th on the list with 17 wickets to his name.
