Latest IPL 2022 Points Table, Orange Cap & Purple Cap Holder After GT vs LSG Match 57

Gujarat Titans become the first team to qualify for the IPL 2022 playoffs.

In a low-scoring affair between the battle of the table-toppers, Gujarat Titans convincingly defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 62 runs in match 57 of the IPL 2022 and qualified for the playoffs. On a tricky pitch, Shubman Gill scored an unbeaten 63 to take GT to 144 in the first inning. In reply, Rashid Khan picked up four wickets as LSG got bowled out for 82 runs. 

Latest IPL 2022 Points Table 

Yesterday's match decided the first team to qualify for the playoff stage and it was Gujarat Titans. They are now at the top of the points table with 18 points in 12 games and Lucknow Super Giants are behind them at the second spot with 16 points. 

Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore make up the 3rd and 4th spot with 14 points each. Delhi Capitals are at fifth, Sunrisers Hyderabad at sixth, Kolkata Knight Riders are seventh, and Punjab Kings at eighth: all with 10 points each. Chennai Super Kings have eight points while Mumbai Indians are right at the bottom with four points.

Latest Orange Cap Holder 

There is no change in the top three list of the leading run-scorers with Jos Buttler leading the charts with 618 runs followed by KL Rahul with 459 and Faf du Plessis at third with 389 runs. Shubman Gill is now fourth on the list with 384 runs. 

Latest Purple Cap Holder 

The most wicket-takers of the season list also has no change after last night. Yuzvendra Chahal wears the purple cap with 22 wickets followed by Wanindu Hasaranga with 21 wickets. Kagiso Rabada and Kuldeep Yadav have 18 wickets each.
