In the ongoing test match between India & New Zealand, India came out to bat in the evening on the 3rd day. Jamieson, carrying his good rhythm from the first innings, bowled Shubman Gill, identical to the first innings. This was just in the second over of the innings, first by Kyle Jamieson. 

On his very first delivery of the third innings, Kyle Jamieson pitched the ball back of length with an attempted outswinger. The half centurion from the first innings, Shubman Gill, expected the ball to shape away as he hung back in his crease. The ball although, skid through past the inside edge of the bat and knocked over the bails.

With this wicket, Jamieson became the fastest New Zealand bowler to reach the 50-wicket mark in test cricket. Jamieson has achieved this feat in just 9 test innings. Before the 26-year-old registered the record to his name today, it was held by the Kiwi legend Shane Bond. 

Bond registered 50 wickets in 11 innings and was fastest to 50 wickets before Jamieson. Shane Bond finished with 87 wickets to his name in 18 matches he played.

While talking about the match, India scored 345 runs in the first innings with the help of debutant Shreyas Iyer's 105. Kiwi pacer Tim Southee picked up 5 wickets. In reply, New Zealand managed 296 due to Axar Patel's 5-fer. India are now at 14/1 with a lead of 63 runs as we are looking at Stumps on Day 3.
