IPL: Brian Lara And Simon Katich To Join Sunrisers Hyderabad In A Fresh-Look Support Staff

West Indies' legendary batter, Brian Lara has been roped in by Sunrisers Hyderabad as the franchise's strategic advisor & batting coach. Brian Lara will join the fresh support staff along with Hemang Badani, who has joined as a fielding coach and scout. 

Dale Steyn will also join the franchise as the team's bowling coach. Former Australian batter Simon Katich has replaced fellow Australian Brad Haddin, who was the Assistant coach of the franchise. 

The big changes have come after Sunrisers Hyderabad finished last in the IPL 2021, after qualifying for the playoffs for 5 consecutive seasons. Firstly, Trevor Bayliss was removed as the head coach and was replaced by Tom Moody.

VVS Laxman had to quit the SRH's coaching staff after he joined the National Cricket Stadium in Bangalore. However, Sri Lankan spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan has been retained as the mentor and has been assigned the role of strategy & spin bowling.
