KL Rahul is at the peak of his powers in Indian cricket at the moment. He is 29 years old, a first-choice player in all formats playing XI, a potential captaincy candidate for the national team, and a high brand value.

Rahul is the perfect player for any IPL franchise to build a team around who is swimming around freely in the auction pool ready to get picked and given whatever he wants.

Rahul has been reportedly approached by the new IPL franchise - Lucknow after he left Punjab Kings(PBKS) post-IPL 2021 exit. But will and should he go for a new franchise trying and go to an already established management?

One of the reasons for going in an already established franchise is there is a good chance of them being favorites since they would have already named their core players and strategized their next season according to them.

However, purely because of this reason, Rahul may want to join a new team where he can build a team according to his needs. If KL wants full control and authority over a team, he might go for a new franchise but if Rahul is eager to win an IPL trophy, he could opt to go for an already established one.

Wherever Rahul will go, one thing is for certain, he will be leading the side at least for the next three seasons.
