Disciplined bowling setup Delhi Capitals' comfortable eight-wicket win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 33rd match of IPL 2021 in Dubai on Wednesday.

Chasing a modest total of 135, DC was never in trouble despite losing Prithvi Shaw for 11 in the third over. Shikhar Dhawan and comeback man Shreyas Iyer took the game ahead slowly and steadily with their 52-run stand for the second wicket in 48 balls.

Dhawan, during his 42 from 37, completed 400 runs in IPL 2021 and got back the orange cap. After Rashid Khan removed Dhawan in the 11th over, Rishabh Pant joined Iyer at the crease.

Pant tried to slog from the first ball itself, contrary to his partner, who was happy taking singles and finding odd boundaries. The two shared an unbeaten 67-run stand for the third wicket to finish the game off 18th over and jump back to the top of the points table with seven wins in nine games.

Earlier, despite choosing to bat first, SRH couldn't capitalise with the bat as they lost two wickets inside the powerplay and struggled their way to score just 32 in the first six overs.

None of the batters looked comfortable while at the crease DC bowlers breathed fire, especially Anrich Nortje, who clocked 147 kmph consistently throughout his four-over spell. While Nortje 2/12 created pressure, his South African partner Kagiso Rabada made use of the pressure to take three wickets in his four overs.

Axar Patel, too, kept it tight from his end and finished with 2/21 in his four overs. R Ashwin, unfortunately, didn't have a memorable night as he conceded 22 runs in 2.5 overs he bowled and an almost wicket(Pant dropped Williamson off his bowling).

Brief Scorecard

Sunrisers Hyderabad - 134/9 (Abdul Samad - 28; Kagiso Rabada - 3/37)
