Contrary to the 1st T20I, the second match at Eden Gardens saw Virat Kohli scoring a fifty with his variety of shots and taking on the bowlers head-on in the powerplay. Rishabh Pant also smacked an unbeaten 52 at a strike rate of 185.71 to make his presence felt. Ishan Kishan continued with the rough patch with his form and was dismissed for 2 runs off 10 balls. 

While defending 187, Indian bowlers couldn't manage to pick many wickets but Bhuvneshwar Kumar along with the spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Bishnoi controlled the flow of runs and help stop the Windies before the target. 

Windies batters Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell almost crossed the winning line for their team with 62(41) and 68*(36) respectively but in the end Powell failed to close the match with a tight over from Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the death overs. 

Roston Chase was once again the highlight of the Windies bowling attack with his right arm off-break as he bagged the important wickets of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav. Jason Holder came back after an injury and was pretty expensive in his wicketless spell of 4 overs, giving away 45 runs.

India managed to win the 2nd T20I in the last over-thriller after a comfortable win in the 1st T20I and would be favourites to clean sweep the demoralized West Indies.
