India Rout New Zealand By 168 Runs To Clinch T20I Series 2-1

India bowled out New Zealand for just 66 runs after posting a massive 234 runs on the board.

IND vs NZ: After Shubman Gill's terrific ton, the bowlers stepped up to completely rout the New Zealand team. India bowled out New Zealand for just 66 runs in 12.1 overs, winning the decider 3rd T20I by 168 runs, winning the 3-match series 2-1. 

Chasing 235 runs to win, New Zealand lost their opener Finn Allen (3) in the very first over. In the 2nd over, Arshdeep Singh struck with two wickets while Hardik Pandya picked his second scalp in the next over to rig down the New Zealand top order.

New Zealand continued to lose wickets at one end while Daryl Mitchell, batting at #5, held the other end with his knock of 35 runs in 25 balls. However, he was the last wicket to fell as New Zealand were bowled out for just 66 runs in 12.1 overs. 

Captain Hardik Pandya stood out with 4 wickets to his name while conceding just 16 runs in his 4 overs. Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik and Shivam Mavi registered 2 wickets each to their name, all maintaining an economy of 6 or below. With this win, India have registered yet another bilateral series at home soil. 

In the first innings, Shubman Gill silenced critics as he plundered his maiden century in T20Is, powering India to 234/4 against New Zealand in the decider 3rd T20I. 

Opening the innings, Ishan Kishan was dismissed in the 2nd over against Michael Bracewell after scoring just one run. However, Rahul Tripathi got together with Shubman Gill and these two etched a partnership of 80 runs in 42 balls for the 2nd wicket. Tripathi was dismissed in the 9th over against Ish Sodhi after scoring 44 runs off just 22 balls (4x4,6x3).

However, Gill continued on the end as he completed his maiden T20I ton off just 54 balls. The 23-year-old ended with an individual score of 126* runs in 63 balls, laced with 12 fours & 7 sixes. This is the highest individual score for any Indian batter T20Is. 

Suryakumar Yadav contributed with 24 runs off 13 balls while captain Hardik Pandya smacked 30 runs off 17 balls, and was dismissed in the 20th over as India achieved the highest-ever total for an IND vs NZ T20I match. 

For New Zealand, Michael Bracewell, Blair Tickner, Ish Sodhi and Daryl Mitchell managed 1 wicket each to their name. 

Earlier, India captain Hardik Pandya won the toss & opted to bat first against New Zealand in the 3rd T20I. This match was played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
