Ravindra Jadeja, on the 3rd delivery of the 83rd over, tapped the ball for a single towards mid-off. With this single, Jadeja brought up his 17th fifty in Test cricket. The left-arm batter, batting at #6 for India, brought up this fifty with 6 boundaries. This is Ravindra Jadeja's 5th fifty in the last 6 innings he has batted for the team.

Jadeja has been an asset for the Indian test team for the last two years, scoring crucial runs and providing important breakthroughs. As soon as scored his fifty against New Zealand off 99 balls, Jadeja displayed his traditional sword celebration. The importance of this innings will be realized as the match proceeds.
