ENG vs IND 1st T20I - After notching up his maiden T20I fifty in the first innings, Hardik Pandya picked up 4 wickets as India cruised to a dominating win by 50 runs against England in the 1st T20I. Despite faltering in the death overs while batting, Indian bowlers performed well enough to defend a target of 199 runs with ease, restricting England to 148/10 in 19.3 overs.
England were dealt the first blow in the first over itself as Bhuvneshwar Kumar clean bowled Jos Buttler with a booming inswinger for a golden duck. Hardik Pandya then came on to bowl in the 5th over and removed Dawid Malan (21) and Liam Livingstone (0) in the very same over.
Hardik came on to bowl the 7th over and again struck as he removed opener Jason Roy (4). Harry Brook looked solid in his 23-ball stay but was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal for 28 runs. England went on to lose wickets at regular intervals and ultimately fell quite short of the target.
