Harbhajan Singh Announces Retirement From All Forms Of Cricket

Two-time World Cup winner Harbhajan Singh has officially announced his retirement from all forms of cricket today. 

The off-spinner took to Twitter to announce his decision and also made a video where he was thanking his family, friends, and all other teams of which he was part. 

Although Harbhajan didn't play regular cricket after 2015, he never announced his retirement. He continued to play and be part of the Indian Premier League(IPL). He last represented Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) and played three matches in IPL 2021.

"There comes a time when you have to take some tough decisions and move on in life. I wanted to announce something from the last few years and was waiting to share that moment with all of you. I am retiring from all formats of cricket from today. 

Although I had made up my mind from retiring a long time back but couldn't announce. I wasn't playing cricket for a while but due to the commitment with Kolkata Knight Riders, I wanted to be with them for the IPL but during the season only I had decided to retire," Harbhajan said in the video. 

Harbhajan Singh ended his cricket career with 417 test wickets in 103 matches, 269 ODI wickets in 236 matches, and 150 wickets in 163 IPL matches. He played a crucial role in India's successful 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 World Cup. 

All good things come to an end and today as I bid adieu to the game that has given me everything in life, I would like to thank everyone who made this 23-year-long journey beautiful and memorable.
