England Sneak 17 Run Win Despite Suryakumar Yadav's Thunderous Ton; India Clinch Series 2-1

India win the T20I series against England 2-1 after a 17 run defeat in the third T20I.

ENG vs IND 3rd T20I: A high scoring edge of seat thriller which went down the line, as the hosts England managed to beat team India by 14 runs in the 3rd T20I and avoid a clean sweep in the T20I series. Suryakumar Yadav scored a thunderous ton while chasing a record total, but his dismissal in the 18th over sealed the match for England. 

After India lost their top three batters - Rishabh Pant (1), Virat Kohli (11) and Rohit Sharma (11) at just 31 runs, Suryakumar Yadav etched a huge partnership of 119 runs in 62 balls with Shreyas Iyer for the fourth wicket. Out of these 119, SKY scored 86 runs off just 39 balls.

Suryakumar went on smacking the bowlers all around, bringing the equation down to 41 needed of 12 over. Moeen Ali came on to bowl the 19th over, and Yadav smacked a four, a six and a four in the first three deliveries along with two wides. However, after dot delivery, Suryakumar Yadav was caught out by Phillip Salt at long-off due to a mishit. 

Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed after scoring 117 runs in 55 balls with 14 fours & 6 sixes as India lost their 7th wicket, and eventually went on to score 198/9, 17 runs short of the target. 

For England, Reece Topley picked up 3 wickets and David Willey & Chris Jordan picked up 2 wickets each. Richard Gleeson and Moeen Ali grabbed 1 wicket each. 

In the first innings, England batters finally showed their destructive side as they posted a total of 215/7 against India in the 3rd T20I.

In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the Indian bowlers were taken on by the English batters. Dawid Malan was the top scorer with 77 runs off just 39 balls with 6 fours & 5 sixes. 

Liam Livingstone also plundered an unbeaten 42 runs in just 29 balls with 4 sixes. For India, Ravi Bishnoi and Harshal Patel picked up 2 wickets each while Avesh Khan and Umran Malik grabbed 1 wicket each.

Earlier, England captain Jos Buttler won the toss & opted to bat first against India in the 3rd T20I. This match is being played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
