Cricket South Africa confirm Australia tour dates

Jan. 4 (CRICKETNMORE) - South Africa will host Australia for a four-Test series March and April 2018. This is for the  for the first time in almost 50 years when South Africa and Australia will clash in a 4 test series. 

The last time two teams played four test match series was in 1969/70. Since South Africa’s readmission to international cricket in 1991 the sides have met in only two- or three-Test series.

“Since unification in 1991, this will be the first time the two countries will compete in a four-match Test series,” commented CSA Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat, “This will add to the significance of the Test series and will offer us a perfect opportunity to finally win a Test series at home against the formidable Aussies.

1st Test: 1-5 March at Kingsmead, Durban

2nd test: 9-13 March at St George’s Park, Port Elizabeth

3rd Test: 22-26 March at Newlands, Cape Town

4th Test: 30 March-3 April at Wanderers, Johannesburg
