Secretary Devajit Saikia: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will take a decision on senior men's chief selector Ajit Agarkar's future within the next 15 days, said Secretary Devajit Saikia after the 95th Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place here on Friday.
Agarkar, who assumed the chief selector's role in July 2023, has been a part of a successful period for the national side. Under his term as chief selector, India reached the 2023 ODI World Cup final, won the 2024 T20 World Cup, the 2025 Champions Trophy, and retained the T20 World Cup title at home earlier this year.
His term ends on October 4, and the BCCI will have to make a decision as India enters the final leg of preparations for the 2027 Men’s ODI World Cup. "Today, there has been no discussion about any individual. We still have 15 days to go. We will take a decision and in appropriate time, we will let you know," Saikia told reporters.
