The All-India Senior selection committee has named KL Rahul as vice-captain for the upcoming 3-match Test series against South Africa. 

Rahul replaces Rohit Sharma as vice-captain, who was ruled out of the Test series owing to a hamstring injury. He will be deputy of captain Virat Kohli as India look to win for their first test series in South Africa.

The first test begins on boxing day - 26th December, the second test on 3rd January and the third test start on 11th January. Post the test series, India will play three ODIs for which the squad is likely to announce on 26th December.
