BBL 10: Adelaide Strikers Win A Thriller Against Brisbane Heat
Adelaide Strikers win a last-ball thriller against Brisbane Heat in the 13th match of Big Bash League(BBL) as they defend a target of 150 runs.
Jimmy Peirson, the stand-in captain for Heat, almost single-handedly chased down the target but eventually remained two runs short. Brisbane was down and out in the 14th over as they got reduced to 68/8 by some clever bowling from Danny Briggs and Rashid Khan.
Peirson along with spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman smashed 60 runs in 24 balls in their ninth-wicket partnership. The two smashed 43 runs off Rashid Khan and Peter Siddle overs.
The heat captain was left alone after Mujeeb got out but still managed to bring the occasion down to 13 runs needed in the last over. Heat lost the game by 2 runs as Peirson could only manage to hit a four on the last ball when a six was needed for a tie.
Earlier, Adelaide batsmen were also not able to strike the ball as they got restricted for 150/6. Xavier Bartlett took three wickets in the first innings.
