BAN vs IRE Only Test: Match Preview:

After a victorious campaign in the white-ball series, hosts Bangladesh are set to take on Ireland in the one-off Test. Bangladesh took full advantage of the home conditions as they defeated Ireland by 2-1 after comprehensively winning the first two games. Ireland stunned the hosts in the final T20I to avoid a clean sweep. The 3rd match was a low-scoring match where the Irish chased down 125 runs with 7 wickets in hand. 

This will be the first-ever Test match between the two sides. Historically, Bangladesh played their maiden Test in 2000 while Ireland played their first game of the format in 2019. Only 5 players from the current Irish squad have played an international Test match before, hence as many as 10 players can debut in this only Test. 

Bangladesh will be fielding a full-strength squad in the Test match with all the regulars retained. Tamim Iqbal and Ebadot Hossain are set to make their comeback to the side after missing out on the Test series against India, while young player Zakir Khan is nursing an injury in his left thumb and has been rested. 

Ireland's regular captain Andy Ballbirnie is returning to the side after being rested in the T20I series. This inclusion would further strengthen the Irish side. Formerly a Zimbabwe cricketer, PJ Moor, who started playing for Ireland, is also included in the team and would be helpful with his experience of playing 8 Test matches.
