Day 3 saw New Zealand getting bowled for 296 after their openers added 151 runs for the first wicket. Tom Latham scored 95 while Will Young made 89. For India, Axar picked up his fifth five-wicket haul. 

In reply, India lost Shubman Gill early as India finished the day on 14/1 with a lead of 63 runs.
