One of the unpopular aspects of bowling in India is fast bowlers getting assistance from the pitch resulting in seam movement. Umesh Yadav is one of the fastest bowlers in the current Indian squad who gets good movement off the pitch.

With the old ball, Umesh becomes more lethal as he not only gets movement off the pitch but brings in reverse swing into play. On day 5 of first India vs New Zealand test, Yadav has proved to be fruitful due to his bowling characteristics.

His ability to seam the ball was on display when he bowled an 'unplayable ball' as described by the commentator to New Zealand captain Kane Williamson. The ball deviated just a bit to miss both Williamson's bat and the off-stump.

Williamson was straight to acknowledge the ball. Umesh, in the first innings as well, got Williamson out but as described earlier, it seamed into the batter and was struck in front.
