SA v IND: Every team wants to begin a series, especially a test series, well, and what better than a perfect first session on day 1. India just had that kind of a session at Centurion where openers - KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal - put on 83 runs without any loss.

Mayank, in particular, looked in solid touch. He didn't shy to come on the front foot to drives and ran quick between the wickets with his Karnataka statemate, Rahul.

Marco Jansen, who is making his test debut today, bowled tightly to keep the Indian openers in check. The left armer kept creating the angle where a batter always has issues.

Jansen bowled the perfect ball that finally got the edge off Mayank's bat. However, to Jansen's luck, Quinton de Kock dropped of what looked like a regular keeper's catch. de Kock had to stretch towards his right and the ball was just above his shoulder height.

de Kock dropped, Mayank survived, and Jansen was left kicking the ground.
