In the 16th match of the BPL, Shakib was on fire as usual in the match between Chattogram Challengers and Fortune Barishal. He was playing at 29 off 24 balls when he encountered Nasum Ahmed in the 14th over.

Shakib struck his first six, bending his back leg and hitting the ball over the cow corner. On the next delivery, Shakib once again chose the same area and smash the ball for a six. The third ball was a touch fast. Shakib cleared his front foot and smacked the ball over the bowler's head to hit a hat-trick of sixes. 

Shakib reached his fifty in 30 balls but got out on the next ball but made sure Fortune Barishal reached a competitive score of 149 and win the match by 14 runs. In the second innings, he picked up three wickets as well in his four overs.
