July 16 (CRICKETNMORE) - South Africa took control of the second Test against England at Trent bridge on Saturday. They were 75 for one in their second innings at stumps on the second day with an overall lead of 205 runs. Dean Elgar (38*) and Hashim Amla (23*) were at the crease.

England’s batting let them down as they were bowled out for 205 in little more than 50 overs. For South Africa, Keshav Maharaj (3/21) and Chris Morris shared (3/38) six wickets between them. England captain Joe Root top-scored with 78. His Yorkshire team-mates Jonny Bairstow (45) and Gary Ballance (27) were the only other England batsmen to pass 18 on Saturday.

Earlier, South Africa lost its last four wickets for 26 runs to be all out for 335 in its first innings after a magnificent spell of 4-4 by James Anderson. Anderson (5/72) took his 22nd five-wicket haul in Test cricket.
