New Delhi, March 2 (Cricketnmore) Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar on Thursday joined professional networking website LinkedIn as a LinkedIn Influencer. He is said to be the first cricketer in the world to join the league of over 500 global influencers on the professional network, a statement said.

His first post on LinkedIn talks about how he made the transition in business after cricket. Tendulkar wants to use the medium to reach a wider audience and help them get better in their field.

Speaking on this association, Tendulkar said: "I am continuing the process of learning and have enjoyed gaining insightful experiences off the field in recent times. These experiences have distinctly been different from the ones during my days in international cricket. Being a part of a team and learning from each other has been an integral part of my development."

The batting maestro feels there are multiple situations in organisations that he is involved with where his on-field learnings benefit those organisations.

"My aim is to share these experiences on a platform, like LinkedIn, to reach a large number of professionals and entrepreneurs to give them get a different perspective and help better their everyday performance," he added.

As a LinkedIn Influencer, Tendulkar will join a select group that includes Prime Minister Narendra Modi, actress Priyanka Chopra, and politician Shashi Tharoor.
