March 28 (CRICKETNMORE) - One of the most popular team in IPL, Kings XI Punjab is yet to win the title. The team under a new captain - Glenn Maxwell is ready to for some surprizes in this edition of IPL. Lets check out some of the most interesting trivia about the team:

#1. Kings Xi Punjab represents Punjab in IPL. Its owned by the Dabur group's Mohit Burman (46%), the Wadia group's Ness Wadia (23%), Preity Zinta (23%), and Karan Paul of the Apeejay Surendera Group (minor stake).

#2. In their logo, the peak of the crest showcases a banner inscribed with ‘K.J.H.P.H’. These letters stand for Kashmir, Jammu, Himachal, Punjab and Haryana, in the same sequence as they appear on the map of India. According to the reason given for this on the KXIP website, it says "While our name may only have ‘Punjab’ as an intrinsic part, it is all these states that our team proudly represents".#

#3. Out of the 132 matches played in 9 season, KXIP won 47% of their matches i:e 63. They lost 70 matches.

 

#4. A interesting history of team captain is associated with KXIP. As many as 8 players were seen in the role of captain in last 9 editions.

#7. In 2011, following the BCCI and Lalit Modi controversy, the Indian Premier League had terminated the franchise contracts of Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals. But Kings XI Punjab was reinstated with involvement from the High Court.
