KS Bharat has been keeping on day 3 of the 1st test match between India and New Zealand in place of Wriddhiman Saha, who has developed a stiff neck.
Bharat had a tough start to the day with the wicket having a low bounce and keeping against world-class spinners like R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel.
New Zealand openers Will Young and Tom Lathan had survived 66 overs by demonstrating brilliant defensive skills. India were still searching for the first wicket. In the 66th over, Ashwin finally got the edge of Young, who was batting at 89.
It was a ball that kept low and KS Bharat had to keep himself low to take the catch at ankle height. As soon as Bharat grabbed the ball, he was confident he had taken the catch. Umpire Nitin Menon, who is having a tough match so far, gave it not out.
However, Bharat was convinced Young had edged it and convinced everyone around him to take the review. He got support from Ashwin and captain Ajinkya Rahane took the review where it was proved that Young had got a fine edge.

India finally got their first breakthrough after 66 overs and New Zealand at the score of 151 runs - courtesy of some brilliant bowling from Ashwin and wicketkeeping from KS Bharat, which was also his first catch in international cricket. He is yet to make his debut for India.
