Sydney, Jan 10 (IANS) India survived a scare in the final session of day five to draw the fourth and final Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) here Saturday.

Ajinkya Rahane (not out 38) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (not out 20) held the fort as the visitors lost five wickets, having added just 90 runs in the final session.

A memorable Indian victory was on the cards with the visitors needing 189 runs with eight wickets in hand in the last session but a string of wickets saw the visitors stutter to 252 for seven at stumps.
