21st February, Christchurch - West Indian allrounder Andre Russel allround performance helped his team to register an easy victory over Pakistan on Saturday here. He was awarded man of the match for his powerful performance.

Andre Russel first played an explosive knock of 42* from 13 balls which includes 4 sixes and 3 fours. It was his innings that helped West Indies to cross 300 score. 'It was set up for me to play my part. Dinesh, Simmons and Darren had done the work during the middle. I backed myself for the big hits and they came off", he said at presentation ceremony. 

Pakistan who crumbled against West Indian pace attack and lost the match by a whopping margin of 150 run. Russel proved his worth here also as he took 3/33. His victim includes Pakistan skipper Misbah-Ul-Haq and dangerous looking Umar Akmal.

"It was easier with the ball as they had lost many wickets with the new ball and so I was focusing on sticking to the basics", Russel said.
