17th July (CRICKETNMORE) - England's fast bowler Chris Woakes took career best match figures of 11 for 101 (6/70 & 5/31) in the ongoing first test against Pakistan at Lords. This is the fifth best figures for an English bowler against Pakistan in Tests. The only English bowler to take more than 11 wickets against them in a Test is Derek Underwood who had match figures of 13 for 71 at Lord's in 1974.

His statistics become more important as only 2 English fast bowlers have ten wickets in an innings at Lord's in the last 50 years before Woakes. Ian Botham (11/140 vs New Zealand) in 1978 and Stuart Broad (11/165 vs West Indies) in 2012.

In doing so, Wickets has also completed his 400 wickets first-class cricket.
