Melbourne Stars captain Glenn Maxwell on January 19th (Wednesday) in a match against Hobart Hurricanes at Melbourne Cricket Ground in the Big Bash League (BBL 2021-22), put on a flurry of records. Maxwell faced 64 balls and scored 154 runs with 22 fours and 4 sixes, striking at 241. Stars skipper accumulated 112 of these runs through boundaries only.

Glenn Maxwell recorded the second-fastest century of BBL history. Craig Simmons holds the record for the fastest century in the tournament was scored by Craig Simmons in 39 balls.

'Big Show' Maxwell also played the longest individual innings in the BBL. Before him, this record was held by his fellow teammate Marcus Stoinis, who on this very stadium played a knock of 147 runs in the 2019-2020 season. 

Apart from Glenn Maxwell, Stoinis also played a thunderous knock, facing 31 balls and scoring 75 runs with the help of 4 boundaries and 6 sixes. Due to this, Melbourne Stars managed 273 runs in the 20 overs at a loss of 2 wickets. This is the biggest total in the BBL history and overall second-biggest total in T20 history.
